Your Hearing

It is estimated that over 9 million people in the UK (that is 1 in 7 of the population) currently suffer from hearing loss and the latest research suggests that the incidence of hearing loss in the younger generation is increasing.

Hearing loss can present itself very suddenly, or more gradually over time especially as one gets older. It can be very noticeable making everyday communication extremely difficult, or only affect you for certain activities in your daily life.

If you can answer YES to any of the following questions below, then you may have a hearing loss and would benefit from a full hearing consultation:

  • Do you often have to ask others to repeat themselves?
  • Do you consider some people are mumbling when they are talking to you?
  • Do you have the TV up louder?
  • Do you struggle to hear in noisy situations such as restaurants, parties or social events?
  • Do you have difficulty hearing at a distance i.e.., in meetings, church or theater?
  • Do you have difficulty working out where sounds are coming from?
  • Do you struggle to make out voices on the phone?

Living with a hearing loss can be very difficult, not just for yourself, but for you family and friends too.  Simple everyday communication can leave you feeling tired, frustrated, embarrassed, anxious or even isolated.
